As Jack Holtz, Gary was among those investigating the murder of a Philadelphia school teacher. He gave some nice nuances to the character, believably showing his insecurities as a young agent. Peter Boyle, who later played Gary's father in Midnight Caller, portrayed his mentor in this film.
