Forever Strong: Gary Stars as Rugby Coach

Gary is starring in the true story Forever Strong as a coach, Larry Gelwix, whose rugby team dominated the sport in Utah and the entire country for three decades.

Sean Faris plays a troubled teen who loses his position as star of an Arizona Rugby Team after being sentenced to a boy's home in Salt Lake. Soon he finds himself playing for Gary's team in the national championships against his old team coached by his dad, played by Neal McDonough.

The feature films this summer and fall in Utah; look for it in 2007.

American Pastime Features Gary

Gary has just signed for a role in American Pastime, the new film written and directed by Desmond Nakano, screenwriter of Last Exit to Brooklyn. The film is produced by Barry Rosenbush, the creator of High School Musical. The film is a period piece based on actual events about a baseball team that arose out of Japanese internment camps in Topaz, Utah during World War II. Watch for more details here!

Gary in the Summer's Biggest Movie!

Gary is featured in the new Will Ferrell NASCAR comedy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby--it's one of the biggest hits of the summer! As Reese Bobby, Gary plays the father of Ferrell's character (despite them being only a few years different in age). Ain't It Cool News has already reviewed this film...check out what they had to say about Gary:

"Three cheers for Gary Cole, though, as Ricky's self-destructive, alcoholic father who shows up to retrain Ricky how to drive. As Reese Bobby he owns every scene he is in (hell, even scenes he isn't in) and conclusively answers the question, "Is there anything Gary Cole can't do?" (That would be no.)"

The film is co-written by Ferrell and Adam McKay. Co-starring are John C. Reilly, Michael Clarke Duncan, Sacha Baron Cohen and Leslie Bibb.

Once More, Unto the Breach

Gary has finished filming Breach, a spy movie also starring Ryan Phillippe, Chris Cooper and Laura Linney. Based on a true story, the espionage thriller is about a young FBI agent, Eric O'Neill (Phillippe), who finds that his boss and mentor, Robert Hanssen, may be the ultimate threat to the agency's integrity.

Gary plays Rich Garces, a character based on Richard Garcia, the supervisor who kept Hanssen distracted with the noose closed in around him. The film is due in theatres in March of 2007.

FINALLY!!! American Gothic on DVD!!!

Gary's brilliant '90s series, American Gothic, is finally out on DVD! Celebrating AG's 10th Anniversary, the DVD set will feature all 22 episodes of the entire series including the four lost episodes that never aired on network television. Bonus features include 15 deleted and extended scenes (never-before-seen) and a pilot commentary with Shaun Cassidy.

This is Gary's masterpiece role, as the sexy, charming, completely evil Sheriff Lucas Buck. CBS, the network which had the show, never knew what to do with it and ran the episodes out of order and skipped some entirely. Now you can see the complete series from start to finish! It also stars Lucas Black, Sarah Paulson, Brenda Bakke, Jake Weber, Nick Searcy and Paige Turco, and was created by Shaun Cassidy and produced by Sam Raimi.

This is absolutely our favorite show of all time here at The Gary Cole Archives. If you only buy one DVD set, this is the one to get! Buy it now from Amazon!

Two More Films

Gary's made a brief appearance in That Guy, a Fox pilot starring Josh Meyers. It's a comedy directed by Betty Thomas, with whom Gary worked in the Brady Bunch movies.

He's also starring in the new short film Goodnight, Vagina by Academy Award-nominated director Stacy Sherman. Sherman was nominated for her 2005 documentary short film God Sleeps in Rwanda. Goodnight, Vagina, a comedy, also stars Curb Your Enthusiasm's Cheryl Hines.

Gary Featured in Unknown

Gary is featured in the upcoming film Unknown, starring Jim Caviezel, Greg Kinnear, Barry Pepper and Bridget Moynahan. Directed by Simon Brand, the thriller features Caviezel as a dark mystery man who we never quite know as the plot unfolds in a Memento-like fashion. It opens with five men waking up in a warehouse and realizing they dont know who they are and how they got there. Eventually, they figure out that some of them are hostages and some are kidnappers. But which is which....?

Mmm...Yeah...If You Could Just Work on Saturday....

If you are one of Gary's legion of fans who loved him as Bill Lumbergh in Office Space, you'll love the new Office Space DVD--Special Edition with Flair!

The new edition features an Office Space Retrospective with creator Mike Judge as well as deleted scenes, the trailer and more. This is one of Gary's most popular roles!

And check this out: You can now get a Bill Lumbergh (Office Space) T-shirt featuring Gary as the classic "boss from hell." Featuring Gary in his striped shirt and power suspenders holding the Initech mug, it's a black shirt featuring Lumbergh's catchphrase: "Um yeah... I'm going to need you to come in on Saturday."
